Once upon a dawn of time

About 10,000 years ago Paul and I made a film. Well, not exactly a film, but a rather short story with about twice as much “dancing” that actually took us about 4 months to do, because we filmed it at lunchtimes, where we often got distracted by Half Life’s Team Fortress Classic mod.

Following its success, we decided to make a followup, A Hat Made of Mexico. Well, that never really got made, because making full length films is difficult. But, we had lots of ideas for it. Two of which were particularly “great.”

One day, when messing about in the woods, we came up with Rooster Cogburn: Man Turkey hunter. A man who was hunting down the mythical man turkey. We actually filmed a fair bit of stuff for that, which might be made into a small featurette later. However, born from that idea was Rooster Cogburn: Official Wildlife Expert.

The other idea was a freeform jazz trio. My idea, it has to be said. If I still had my old computer, I would show you the chat logs to prove it. This was one of my few ideas Paul actually liked. He didn’t like the unfunny jester (who was and would be awesome), nor my idea for the film to be based on channel surfing (which might be the basis for our next failed film project).

Anyway, in early 2006, after we’d all gone to uni and stuff, and Paul dropped out of uni and moved to another uni to live with me and two other gentlemen, we decided to eventually film it, with our flatmate Tom. We decided it was rubbish, and redid it.

Now, for the first time ever, you can witness our second ever performance.

I haven’t actually seen it, since it was performed. I will maybe do a follow up when I have. Probably be awesome though.
