Love your postman
February 26th, 2008 by Murray Barnes | Posted in musingsI think we’ve all heard it a hundred thousand times, “Wahh, wahh, I hate my postie. All he does is bring me bills!”
Well, you know what? I’ve found the solution to this problem. It’s quite a simple one. Buy more stuff. See, if you buy stuff on the internet, he’s the one who brings it for you. Not only do you then love him, because he brings you gifts, but it’s a fairly reliable alarm clock in the morning. Plus, if you buy enough, you get a snooze as well.
See, my postman only brings small parcels; CDs, DVDs and the like. For bigger stuff, like hardback books, dulcimer banjos, guitars, surround sound DVD players and the like, it’s delivered in a van, generally about half an hour later. Perfect, really.
As a small aside, me and my flatmate Paul joined Amazon Prime. The Ts and Cs allow people who live together to share an account with it, and we wanted to split the price, making it reasonable. Sadly though, I had to list my relationship with Paul, so Amazon now thinks we’re gay. Sigh.
Recently, though, my postman has brought me particularly awesome crap.

Seriously, words can not express how awesome this hoody is. Rarr.
Actually, I was more excited when two days later, I got a CD.

This album is, frankly, fantastic. What I said before about not knowing whether I should recommend the CDs of Ms. McGee and her banjo playing pal can be safely ignored. As soon as you find yourself with a spare bit of cash, pop over to Amazon and buy this CD.
Wait, first check to make sure you like folk music. If you’re a metal head, this CD may not work for you. Folk fans though, will love it. I do.
What will he bring me next?
